More galley work

Working with Corian is amazing! Here Duane has trimmed the original countertop to fit our cabinet. But in doing so, he trimmed off the finished edge. No problem - just build it back up by using epoxy to glue a new piece in place. Then sand/trim to fit using a router.

Thought I'd throw in this cute photo.  Duane makes everything look easy....but it really is a complicated time consuming process.  Here he is after routing some of the Corian - it comes away from the router in a fine "mist" and sticks to everything!

We toted the whole thing into the trailer momentarily just to make sure we liked the fit.

And here's a detail of the finished edge.  Isn't it wonderful?

  2. How did you remove the kitchen drawers? I am putting new stain/poly on ours but I only removed the doors, not the whole kitchen. Can not figure out how to remove the drawers and don't want to break them. Love the white paint inside. Can't wait to see pictures of this when it is all done. Looks fantastic so far!

    1. Hi - I'm not near the trailer right now, but I recall that you'll just have to work the "track" to get it loose. Kindof like removing a drawer from a filing cabinet. You have to lift and pull at the same time to get it out of the track.
